Welcome to the world of Dr. Jamila T. Davis, a beacon of empowerment, resilience, and advocacy for Black women everywhere. As the Founder of Black Women’s Lives Matter, Jamila has dedicated her life's work to championing the rights, stories, and successes of Black women.

In addition to leading Black Women’s Lives Matter, Jamila serves as the CEO of Pink Passion Couture, a clothing line that celebrates and inspires Black women through fashion. She also expanded her platform in 2022 with All News Black Women, a groundbreaking platform amplifying the voices and experiences of Black women worldwide.

With a background as an award-winning author, motivational educator, community activist, and entrepreneur, Jamila's impact reaches far and wide. She has been featured on esteemed platforms such as “Love and Hip Hop,” VH1’s “My True Crime Story,” CBS's “Pink Collar,” BET’s “Sister Circle,” and more. Her insights have been sought after by media giants like Black Enterprise, Forbes, and The New York Times, solidifying her as a leading voice in her field.

Jamila's journey to empowerment took a turn when, at age 25, she faced adversity and was sentenced to 12 1/2 years for bank fraud. From behind bars, she embarked on a transformative journey of inner healing and restoration. Documenting her findings, she developed a groundbreaking self-help curriculum aimed at empowering incarcerated women to heal, recognize their potential, and reclaim their dreams.

Throughout her incarceration, Jamila pursued higher education, earning multiple college degrees. Her crowning achievement came in June 2021 when she obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree from Newburgh Seminary, focusing her research on using life coaching to dismantle the trauma-to-prison pipeline, a systemic issue disproportionately affecting Black women.

Since completing her sentence in June 2017, Jamila has hit the ground running, leading successful programs in schools nationwide and partnering with community organizations to effect change. Her work has garnered national recognition, and she now leads as the founder of the VIP Online Academy, where she has empowered thousands of students with trade and entrepreneurial skills to prepare them for the workforce.

Committed to paying it forward, Jamila’s life motto is: "No matter how far you've fallen in life, it's never too late to recapture your dreams." Through her inspirational message, literary work, and activism, Jamila is dedicated to making a profound difference in the lives of Black women everywhere.
